Description of research and teaching:
I'm a postdoctoral researcher supported by the Research Council of Finland (2021-24). My project is titled "Investigating Abuses against Asylum-Seekers: Advancing the Collaborative Model of Investigative Journalism across Regions of the Global South and the North." The geopolitical focus of my project is on the US-Mexico (Global North-South) border. My interdisciplinary research is situated at the intersection between journalism and communication studies and area and cultural studies. I received my PhD at the University of Helsinki in 2018 (Latin American Studies, journalism studies). Between November 2021 and October 2023, I was a visiting scholar at New York University's Department of Media, Culture, and Communication.
